Before your Powder Brows appointment
A little preparation helps your brows heal evenly and keeps the final result soft and natural. Please review the guidelines below before your visit at Artisto Beauty.
A. Contraindications check
Before booking, please make sure there are no contraindications. Certain medical conditions, medications, or active skin issues may make the procedure unsuitable or may affect healing.
- Pregnancy and nursing: we do not perform the procedure during pregnancy or while nursing.
- Medical conditions & medications: if you’re unsure, please message us before booking or consult your healthcare provider.
- Active skin issues near the brow area (irritation, infection, sunburn) should be resolved before the appointment.
B. Previous brow work
If you’ve had previous PMU/microblading/microshading, we need to evaluate your brows to advise what’s realistic to achieve.
- Send a clear close-up photo of your brows in natural light, without makeup.
- Tell us when the previous procedure was done and if you know what technique was used.
Long-term considerations
- Accutane: please wait at least 12 months after finishing Accutane before getting Powder Brows.
- Retinol/strong actives: stop using retinol or similar products around the brow area about 4–6 weeks before your appointment (longer is better if you’re a frequent user).
Pre-appointment guidelines (as your appointment gets closer)
- Botox/fillers: schedule at least 4 weeks before or after your brow appointment.
- Exfoliants & skin procedures: avoid AHAs/BHAs/retinoids around the brows for 2 weeks before. Pause aggressive facials/peels/laser near the area.
- Brow maintenance: do not wax, thread, or tweeze 1–2 weeks before the appointment.
- Avoid tanning: no sunbathing or tanning beds 7 days before.
- Health check: if you feel sick or notice any skin irritation 2–3 days before, please message us to reschedule.
- Alcohol/cannabis/CBD: avoid for 24–48 hours before.
- Blood thinners / pain relievers: if you take prescription blood thinners, consult your doctor. Avoid aspirin/ibuprofen for about 3 days before unless medically necessary.
- Supplements: consider pausing fish oil, vitamin E, and similar supplements that may increase bleeding for a few days before (if safe for you).
- Hydration: keep skin hydrated, but don’t over-moisturize the brow area right before your appointment.
Day of your appointment
- Come with clean skin around the brows (no heavy brow makeup).
- You may wear your usual makeup, just keep the brow area clean.
- If you have reference photos of the style you like (soft/natural vs more defined), bring them.
- If you’re unsure about anything (medications, skin condition, previous PMU), send us a message before booking — we’ll guide you.
