Before your Lip Blush appointment
A little preparation helps your lips heal evenly and keeps the final result soft and natural. Please review the guidelines below before your visit at Artist of Beauty.
A. Contraindications check
Before booking, please make sure there are no contraindications. Certain medical conditions, medications, or active skin issues around the lips may make the procedure unsuitable or may affect healing.
- Pregnancy and nursing: we do not perform the procedure during pregnancy or while nursing.
- Medical conditions & medications: if you’re unsure, please message us before booking or consult your healthcare provider.
- Active irritation, cuts, cold sores, infection, or sunburn on the lips should be resolved before the appointment.
B. Previous Lip Blush work
If you’ve had previous PMU/Lip Blush, we need to evaluate your lips to advise what’s realistic to achieve.
- Send a clear close-up photo of your lips in natural light, without makeup.
- Tell us when the previous procedure was done and if you know what technique or color was used.
Long-term considerations
- Accutane: please wait at least 12 months after finishing Accutane before getting Lip Blush.
- Lip fillers: schedule fillers at least 4 weeks before or after your Lip Blush appointment.
- Keep your lips moisturized and hydrated before the appointment for better healing.
Pre-appointment guidelines (as your appointment gets closer)
- Avoid alcohol/cannabis/CBD for 24–48 hours before.
- Avoid aspirin/ibuprofen for about 3 days before unless medically necessary.
- Supplements: consider pausing fish oil, vitamin E, and similar supplements that may increase bleeding for a few days before (if safe for you).
- Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning before the appointment.
- If you are prone to cold sores, please let us know before your appointment.
- Health check: if you feel sick or notice irritation or dryness on the lips 2–3 days before, please message us to reschedule.
Day of your appointment
- Come with clean lips (no lipstick, gloss, or liner).
- Drink enough water and keep lips moisturized before your visit.
- If you have reference photos of lip tones you like, bring them.
- If you’re unsure about anything (cold sores, medications, fillers, or previous PMU), send us a message before booking — we’ll guide you.
