Before your Eyeliner appointment

A little preparation helps your eyeliner procedure feel smoother and supports clean, even healing. Please review the guidelines below before your visit at Artist of Beauty.

A. Contraindications check

Before booking, please make sure there are no contraindications. Certain medical conditions, medications, eye sensitivities, or active skin issues around the eyes may make the procedure unsuitable or may affect healing.

  • Pregnancy and nursing: we do not perform the procedure during pregnancy or while nursing.
  • Eye conditions, recent eye surgery, infections, or irritation should be fully resolved before the appointment.
  • Medical conditions & medications: if you’re unsure, please message us before booking or consult your healthcare provider.
B. Previous eyeliner work

If you’ve had previous permanent eyeliner or lash enhancement, we need to evaluate the area before your appointment to understand what can be refreshed, corrected, or improved.

  • Send a clear close-up photo of your eyes in natural light, without makeup.
  • Tell us when the previous procedure was done and whether it was lash enhancement, classic eyeliner, or another style.
Long-term considerations
  • Accutane: please wait at least 12 months after finishing Accutane before getting permanent eyeliner.
  • Lash growth serums: stop using lash serums around 4–6 weeks before your appointment, as they can make the eyelid area more sensitive.
  • Retinol/strong actives: avoid strong active products near the eye area before your appointment.
Pre-appointment guidelines
  • Do not wear lash extensions to your appointment.
  • Avoid tinting, lifting, or laminating lashes right before the procedure.
  • Avoid alcohol, cannabis, and CBD for 24–48 hours before.
  • If you wear contact lenses, bring glasses and plan to wear them after the appointment.
  • If you take prescription blood thinners, consult your doctor. Avoid aspirin/ibuprofen for about 3 days before unless medically necessary.
  • If you feel sick or notice eye redness, irritation, swelling, or infection symptoms, please message us to reschedule.
Day of your appointment
  • Come with clean eyes and no eye makeup.
  • Do not wear mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, or lash glue.
  • Avoid heavy creams or oils around the eyelids.
  • Bring reference photos if you like a specific eyeliner style, but final design will be customized to your eye shape.
  • If you’re unsure about eye sensitivity, medications, lash serum, contacts, or previous eyeliner PMU, send us a message before booking — we’ll guide you.
